André Leslie was born in 1981 in Sydney into a cricket mad family. After taking law at university he moved to Berlin, Germany in 2005 to complete his studies, while at the same time keeping an eye out for a local cricket club. Despite qualifying as a solicitor by post, he decided to stay on in Germany, work as a journalist and bat up the order for his new team. By 2010 he had made Germany’s national cricket team, a team that most locals don’t even believe exists. Frustrated by the fact that few of his editors ever let him report on his favourite sport, he turned to writing in his spare time. Batting for Berlin is André’s first book.
